It was Tuesday, November 17th, the match between Uruguay vs La Roja Chile in Uruguay’s capital Montevideo. It was a thrilling match with a surprising result; victory for Uruguay with 3 goals from their back lines (23′ – Diego Godin (D) , 61′ – Maximiliano Pereira (D), 65′ – Jose Martin Caceres (D)). Uruguay’s next match will be more thrilling and more extraordinary because Uruguay’s MVP, Luis Alberto Suarez, Barcelona’s and former LFC star, is coming back to face the 5-times World Champions, Brazil on March 23, 2015.
Suarez was then banned for 9 games from his national team and a total of 4 months of absolute no football or association with FIFA. It might have became one of the heaviest punishments ordered by FIFA. While Suarez tried to lessen the ban to play for Barcelona right away, he failed to do so because of his weak arguments especially that Uruguay Football Federation insists that the biting was accidental.
Well now that Uruguay has played 9 international games (1 game against Colombia in the World Cup, 4 games in Copa America 2015 in Chile, and 4 games in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier), Luis Suarez is expected to return to his national duty, and score amazing goals while hopefully not causing anymore controversy.
